Check in at Bolsterstone Village Hall (near Stocksbridge), Sheffield, from 9:30a.m., to start at 10:00a.m.
The Village Hall is adjacent to the church on the top of the hill, at the junction of Yew Trees Lane and Heads Lane. Wherever you park, please be careful not to obstruct local residents.

By public transport from Sheffield, use the 57 bus from Sheffield to Stocksbridge. Its nearest stop to Bolsterstone is in Deepcar, at the junction of St Margaret Avenue and Carr Road, about a mile from Bolsterstone village. Route...
The walks start and finish at Bolsterstone Village Hall, see the PDF Summary. They offer a choice of 5, 10 and 15 mile circular walks around the Broomhead and More Hall Reservoirs on the moors south of Bolsterstone.
The 5-mile walk is suitable for families with young children, goes gently up Whitwell moor, then down to Underbank Reservoir, and then back to Bolsterstone. (PDF Map and Description)

Information...
You will be walking to raise funds, by your own choice, either for Christian Aid or for CAFOD.
Registration...
All walkers must be registered. Walkers under 18 must have their parent's or guardian's consent to take part. Anyone under 14 must be in the care of an adult.
Your sponsor sheet...
Please try to get as many sponsors as possible. If you need another sheet call the contact numbers on your existing sponsor sheet. Your sponsors can either sponsor you for an amount per mile walked, or by a lump sum. Before you check-in on the day, add up your sponsorship money as indicated on the sheet. Please remember to bring your sponsor sheet(s) with you for when you check-in on the day.
What to wear...
Comfortable boots or walking shoes, as it can be muddy. Bring waterproofs and warm clothing. Be prepared for the weather, which can change during the walk.

Refreshments...
Refreshments, including hot and cold drinks will be available at the start and finish centre. Cold drinks will also be available at the check points.

Toilet facilities will be available at the start and finish centre and (hopefully) a check point on route.
First Aid...
Members of St. John's Ambulance will be in attendance.
Organisation...
Radio cover facilitates the organisation of appropriate assistance for any emergency arising en route.
After the Trek...
Collect your sponsor sheet when you check-in at the end. When you have collected your sponsor money, please send a cheque or postal order as instructed on the sponsor form. Please also include your sponsor form to assist in collecting gift aid.

Conditions of entry...
The organisers of the Sheffield May Day Trek reserve the right to cancel the walk because of inclement weather or for other reasons.
While they take all reasonable precautions for the safety and welfare of participants, including insurance cover, they accept as walkers only those who agree to come in their private capacity and entirely at their own risk and who comply with the following conditions:
- Obey the marshalls in all matters
- Keep the Highway and Country Codes
- Leave no litter
- Do not collect any money during the Trek
- Keep any dog in their charge under control and on a lead at all times
- Accept lifts only from official transport bearing the special sign displayed at the starting point
